[Territory Landmarks]
Northern Stream
On the very northern border of ScarletClan territory, there is a wide creek that cuts through the forest, and creates an opening in the dense canopy that blocks out the sun. Around the stream there is sparse undergrowth, and a thin line of reeds growing on the banks. The riverbed is composed of little black pebbles, under swiftly flowing crystal clear water from the mountains. This creek marks the end of ScarletClan territory, and stretches from the eastern corner to the western corner of the territory. On the other side of the stream, the undergrowth is thicker.
Western Border
The western border of ScarletClan territory has more hills and undergrowth than any other part. The ground becomes dry underfoot, and short sharp blades of grass poke through the soil. There is more sunlight, as the trees grow further apart, and is a great place to find herbs that cannot survive the darkness of the heart of the forest.
The wastern portion of the territory is known as the foothills, and finally gives way to snowcapped mountains in the distance far beyond the border.
Southern Border
The deeper south portion of ScarletClan territory becomes a partial redwood forest. Large redwood trees are thickly scattered between the pine trees, and more light seeps down to the forest floor here, allowing shrubs and many flowered plants to grow here. Across the scent line, pine trees start to dissapear all-together and the forest becomes a full fledged redwood forest.
Eastern Border
Along the eastern border, the trees are shorter and small patches of dense undergrowth are dispersed around the tree trunks. Across the scent line, the treeline becomes denser and shorter, and finally gives way to sandy beach cliffs, and the sea.
Abandoned Twoleg Nest
Located in the Northeastern corner, is a condemned twoleg nest. The roof has collapsed, and the remains of twoleg furniture still remains. All the doors and windows have fallen out, leaving an empty shell to house wild mice and rats, and the occasional bat. This makes a good hunting ground.
Meadow
Just inside the western border, there is a beautiful meadow, clear of all trees. A small mountain stream runs along the edge of it, perfect for drinking water and cooling your paws after a battle lesson. The meadow is always sunny, and good for elders to bask in the sun. The flat ground makes a good area for apprentices to train their warrior skills, and the plentiful sun allows rare herbs to grow, where they cannot grow in ScarletClan's forest.
Sky Tree
In the southern portion of the territory, there is an ancient redwood tree that is taller than the eye can see. The trunk is seven foxlengths wide, at least. This tree is sacred to the ScarletClan cats, because it is known as the Stairway to the skies. It is known by this name because the tree is so tall, it's uppermost branches are in StarClan's hunting grounds.
The tree is also useful for apprentices to learn how to climb, and it's root caves provide great shelter in times of need.
